James Bishop is a singer-songwriter, producer, and composer from San Diego, California. His debut album, BODYBOUND, is built entirely from found sounds he recorded while hiking the Pacific Crest Trail—ice crackling, thunder rolling, footsteps, and more—crafted into lush, textural soundscapes without a single studio instrument. The record blends influences from classical to dance, featuring everything from a 100-voice choir to grungy synths, capturing the wild beauty and emotional intensity of the American West. Bishop, who grew up in a music-filled home and studied composition, has produced records for artists in the U.S. and Uganda, scored films and installations, and is now signed with KZZ Music.
