Founded in San Diego, California, MARTYR Productions is an independent creative house established to champion local performing/active artists, bands, and creators. Serving as the central hub for the work of singer-songwriter and producer Angel René, the company oversees the creation, booking, and promotion of original performances, recordings, and multimedia projects.
Since its inception, MARTYR Productions has released three EPs, the full-length debut album How to Live a Beautiful Life (May 2025), and an accompanying short film. The company has also produced a series of sold-out live shows, including Masterpiece (2021), Concert in the Canyon (2023), Christmas in the Canyon (2024), and How to Live a Beautiful Life: A Symphony of Scar & Spirit (2025). Each production exemplifies MARTYR’s commitment to curating immersive experiences that blend storytelling, artistry, and community.
Through collaborations with industry leaders such as producer Cason Cooley (Ben Rector, NEEDTOBREATHE), arranger Ben Shive, drummer Aaron Sterling, guitarist Tyler Burkum, and mixer Sean Moffitt, MARTYR Productions has developed a reputation for combining artistic integrity with professional execution. In addition to curating performances, MARTYR Productions has partnered with SoFar Sounds in San Diego to provide live audio engineering for over 100 bands, expanding its impact within the independent music community.
Its mission remains to provide a platform for authentic voices and innovative artistry outside the confines of commercial formulas.
